Definitions
optics

In an optical system, transparency - light transmission, is the property of an object, such as armoured glass, to allow light to pass through.

The translucency allows the passage of light, but in a diffuse way, causing a loss of contrast. The ASTM D 1003 standard defines HAZE (fog or milky effect) as the percentage of passing light that deviates from the incident ray by more than 2.5 degrees, on average.

Opacity is the optical property of matter that has different degrees and characteristics. A material is considered opaque when it does not allow the passage of LIGHT in appreciable proportions of at least 70%, according to automobile standards.
